In this episode of The Dad Central Show we talk with Bryan Ward, creator of the Dad Up Podcast about his fatherhood journey and the power of finding mentors.
Bryan created the Dad Up podcast as his youngest son transitioned to college. As he contemplated the next season, he realized he was going to miss being a dad and wasn’t sure what to do to process these feelings. After a conversation with someone he trusted, he started the Dad Up Podcast as a way to share his passion for being a dad and help other men be the best they could be for their children.
Throughout the conversation Bryan shares valuable tips and stories from his own life, plus what he’s learned from guests on his show about being a dad. He tells a painful story from his childhood and how it changed his choices as a father. He shows that when you take the time to evaluate your past experiences, you can make changes in the present that help you achieve the future you want to create.
Bryan also talks about his decision to create a personal board of directors and how that has accelerated his growth. From challenging his thinking to holding him accountable for taking action towards his goals, his example shows the power of mentors in your life to drive positive change.
