Supporting newcomer fathers is a vital step in how families and children adapt to life in Canada. Many fathers come before their families, working to bring their families later. When the families do arrive, they face struggles and opportunities. Some are leaving war-torn situations. Some are arriving as refugees. For some, it takes years to get here. But all of them are coming hoping for a new life in Canada. Fathering in a New Land will give us an opportunity to:
- Hear about recent research into newcomer fatherhood.
- Hear from some fathers about their experiences transitioning to life in Canada.
- Learn about resources developed to engage and support newcomer fatherhood.
- Network with others working to engage newcomer fathers.
