How Dads Can Overcome Separation & Still Parent Their Kids

In a perfect world, we would all live happily ever after and parents would never split up.

In the real world, separation and divorce are common and many children do not live full-time with both biological parents. But parenting does not end after divorce or separation. We know that children of separated parents need good parenting — in fact, they may need it even more than other kids.

We know dads care deeply about being involved parents, but often have limited support after separation. It’s one of the most difficult transitions for men, as evidenced by the significantly increased rates of mental health issues associated with divorce and separation.

Designed to provide tangible actions, important principles and resources, this discussion will help dads:

  • Acknowledge the challenge of separation and divorce
  • Identify the most important actions their kids need from them
  • Work through conflict and positively co-parent or parent from a distance
  • Access free resources and additional support

This discussion is about being a good father — the best one you can be in a difficult situation.

Note, this discussion does not touch on the family court system, custody disputes, or legalities.

Our goal is to help you navigate the transition and be there for your kids, so please watch the discussion How Dads Can Overcome Separation & Still Parent Their Kids.

At Dad Central, we know active and involved fathers make a significant difference in the lives of their kids. Join us to learn how even when it feels impossible.
